I wish I could’ve gotten this announcement out sooner, but as it turns out this week is the infamous “dead week” on my campus. This week has been a pretty hectic one for me as I’m working to get the last of my assignments turned in before the end of semester, then switch gears to the upcoming finals week before finally embracing the Christmas spirit head on. Y’all don’t understand, I’m ready to just close the book on this semester and go back to being the lethargic sack of suds I usually am.
It’s a shame things ended up the way they did, because not only am I totally missing the hype train for things like the Arrowverse crossover (which was SO good, guys) and the Avengers: Infinity War trailer (to which I said “fuck being busy” before playing it 6 times in a row), I also missed a very big musical anniversary that came today. Yes, I am of course talking about the album to end all albums. Michael Jackson’s Thirller turns 35 years old today.
Now, ever since I started doing occasional album reviews, I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to talk about Michael Jackson, one of my top 5 favorite singers of all-time. In fact, I was going to do it months ago when Bad also had a milestone anniversary, but how can I talk about Bad before I review Thriller?
So, be on the lookout for a classic album review of Thriller in the days to come. I’ll try to get it out as soon as humanly possible so I’m not too far off the anniversary date. My goal is to have it out within a week. Until then, wish me luck on these finals… please!
I’m SBox180. Thanks for reading!
